Do you supply bespoke made gates?
We can offer reduced widths from our standard gate sizes listed. Please call us to discuss your customised requirements.
Can you take the measurements for my driveway?
No, Online Security Gates do not offer a measuring service. Please contact us if you need advice on what measurements to take to ensure you order the correct size.
Can I fit my own lock to the pedestrian gate?
Our gates come pre-cut to accept the locks and handle we supply. The barrel is a standard Euro type which can be changed very easily. Different types of locks could be fitted but you may have to make some adjustments to do so.
Can I use two pedestrian gates as a pair?
Yes you can, although you do have to bear in mind that the gates are pre-cut for the handles and locking mechanism, handles would need to be fitted to both gates and locking mechanism removed from one (two screws) for them to close together. A further addition of drop bolts (not supplied by us) may be required to hold them in place once closed. By using two pedestrian gates together, we can cover entryways from 1800mm wide upto 2400mm wide or wider if including 100mm posts or 150mm posts at both sides adding additional 300mm and 200mm respectively.
Can the gates be hung left or right handed?
Yes they can, the flat top gates can easily be hung either way as they are identical on both sides. The curved top gates are always hinged from the lower side, the handles on the higher side.
Posts
Used to fill a gap or to create a stand-alone opening. Can be bolted down or concreted in. When fitting gates to the post a floor mounted hinge is recommended for the bottom and a wall mounted hinge for the top.
Door stop
Centre stop to prevent the gates swinging in one direction, also used to hold the gates in place when closed.
Wall mounted hinge
Can be used as either a top or bottom hinge, fits to a vertical surface parallel to the gate.
Floor mounted hinge
Bottom hinge only, fixes to horizontal solid surface underneath the gate. To be used as a bottom hinge when using posts.
